Thank you for the awesome recipie. This banana pie is delicious! I prefer to make most deserts out of scratch and this one definitely makes a difference compared to instant substitues.
Mine was chilled over night and I also noticed that it was more on the runny side than I would prefer. Also to my taste its too sweet, I would cut the sugar in the recipe possibly in half. But overall it was still delicious! Thank you

In reply to Elizabeth. I'm glad everyone liked it! Yeah, I did find that the pudding was softer than box mix. I actually preferred the less "jiggly" texture. :)

I made this for Father’s Day , it is my husbands favorite! The pie did not seem to hold together very well when I was cutting it. I was expecting the pudding and banana mixture once chilled ( made it yesterday ) to be a little more firm. I followed the directions and I am an experienced baker.
I guess know one cared that it didn’t hold together because it was gone ! I should have made two , did not know that everyone on his side of the family loves Banana Cream Pie!

SOS!!! Can I substitute potato starch instead of cornstarch? And if yes, do I use it the same?

I am lusting after that pie. Then hearing there is a Chai cream pie and an Earl Grey pie—-Woozer!!!! I am going to have to start looking into that. What a job, but as they say someone has to do it. And as you tell my looking at my name, tea is my game.
