Product Review: Medora Snacks

Last week, I had the opportunity to try out some products from Medora Snacks. They were so good that I had to restrain myself from posting about before I got to try them all!

Before we get to that though, I want to say a few words about the company. First off, they are relatively local (from Long Island, which is at least in the same state and only a few hours away) which always excited me. But then they say about their company, “Medora Snacks is driven by the passion of mothers who only want the very best for those they love.” What’s not to love about that?? And their products are all-natural and have very few ingredients. I love when you look at the ingredients list and it short and understandable! Each serving of snacks has approximately 100 calories, which I think is more than reasonable- especially since I found them to be pretty filling. (You can find more detailed nutrition information by clicking over to their site above)

But now that that’s out of the way, here’s the important part- these things ROCK! They make a few different products: pogos are cheesy snacks, Puccis are pizza flavored, Sotos are multigrain nsakcs, and corners are a tortilla chip.

I can’t pick a favorite: it’s either the pogos or the puccis.

I got to try the pogos in jalapenio cheddar and white cheddar and they were both awesome. I was really impressed by te level of spice in the jalapenio version! These basically remind me of a cross between a cheese puff and a cheese-it. They’re puffy, but the cheese is baked right in, so no nasty orange fingers with these! they’re not greasy at all, which I also find very nice.

The puccis are a pizza flavored snack. While I love pizza, we’re generally not fans of pizza flavored things because they never really taste right. These were awesome though- they actually taste like pizza! they have a nice crispy cheese taste (if you’ve ever eaten cheese thats oozed out of something and cooked until its crisped, thats what this is like) with the perfect seasoning. I also love that the base of these is actually pizza dough rather than a normal chip or cracker. If you like pizza, you should definitley check these out!

The sotos and the corners were also really, really good. The cinnamon streusal sotos remind me of cinnamon life, only better. I know that sounds funny, but this was my favorite cereal as a kid, so its definitely a compliment. the corners were really good with some fresh salsa, and I loved that they weren’t greasy at all.

These are all available on Amazon as well as at some health food stores. From what they tell me, they will start to be available in larger grocery stores soon too, so keep an eye out or ask the manager about these. I haven’t foudn them around here yet truth be told I’ve only looked a few places) but I will definitley be placing an order if i can’t find them soon. If you’re looking for a snack that you can feel good about eating, I couldnt’ reccomend these more.
